Affirmations!

I don't plan to blog everyday, but something funny came up this morning during my morning iPad check-in ritual.  I have tons of apps, most of which I do not regularly use. But in keeping with my promise to myself, I perused through my folder of apps this morning labelled "Spiritual".  One of the apps I have in that folder is called "Affirmations!"  It is a really basic app, that you open up and it reveals a positive message for you to ponder in meditative thought.  So, how kookie was it when the message was "As I write, the words flow through me"?   So I thought maybe I would write and see what happened.

The theme of this blog is balance, and unraveling the kinks that emerge to impede that goal.  A wealth of resources have been utilized in seeking out truth and maintaining inner peace.  But life somehow gets in the way, sometimes, and another day goes by with little or no progress.

But there is something hopeful and positive about The New Year holiday, and all that it brings in terms of hope, renewal, and opportunity.  In the dead of winter, a new beginning nurtures the seeds of What Will Be.  Long ago, I gave up making Resolutions as a list of commandments each year, due to failing, and wanting to avoid the disappointment failure brings.  But what is that saying? "Hope springs eternal".  That sounds like a resolution in itself that could not lead to failure.

So, as 2010 begins to fold up into an archived memory, here's to hope.

Oh, and I did come home and practice the piano for a bit yesterday.  Nothing major, just exercising my fingers. But it's a start.

As New Year's Eve approaches, I have hope that we may all find that balance that allows the best within us to emerge, shine, and flourish.
